Cleveland Rocks: 12/2 – 12/8

December 1, 2013

It’s no secret that Cleveland has a great music scene. From the local acts to the international touring mega stars, our fair city has something happening every single night of the week. Here are our picks from here through the weekend.

Monday, 12/2

Season Teasing at Beachland Ballroom & Tavern

Bella Sin, Eliza Sidecar, Little Owlee, Veranda L’ Ni, Sunshine La Ray & many more surprises throughout the night.

FREE SHOW! (Service Industry Night!) This show is 18+. Toy donations for Toys For Tots are highly encouraged (No one under 18 will be granted entry).

Tuesday, 12/3

Corey Smith at House of Blues

“Corey Smith was named one of country music’s hottest new artists by Country Weekly and Music Row Magazine and was featured on the cover of Pollstar as a Hotstar Top Artist.”

Wednesday, 12/4

Will Cheshier at Barking Spider Tavern

“Will draws from his love for all kinds of music to craft an addictive blend of pop melody, funk rhythm, jazz sensibility and visceral blues emotion. Deftly rhythmic lyrics and picturesque stories are woven throughout, delivered by a strong clear voice over agile and densely complex guitar.”

Thursday, 12/5

This Century at the Grog Shop

“Their unique combination of anthemic pop and die hard grassroots fan base has led them to extensive tour dates with the likes of Good Charlotte, The Maine, The Ready Set, Breathe Carolina, Hey Monday and many others.”

Friday, 12/6

Animal Collective at House of Blues

“Innovative and acclaimed indie band with a penchant for experimental electronics, childlike campfire folk, and a warped take on Beach Boys harmonies.”

Saturday, 12/7

Womack Family Band at Beachland Ballroom & Tavern

“The Womack Family Band isn’t a blood-related family. However, the group consists of four members who live, eat, sleep, and breathe music- together. They live together, and when they’re not rehearsing or recording, the family is on the road touring from Ohio to Maine to Florida and everywhere in between.”

Sunday, 12/8

The Sprout Music Showcase at Brother’s Lounge

“Sprout Music Showcase @ 6PM; Neccos for Breakfast @ 8PM. This is a “storytellers” type program where some of the best young performers in the Cleveland area will answer a couple quick questions from the host, and then perform 2 to 3 original songs. Neccos will perform a preview set of all the songs from their upcoming CD release.”
